(Nasdaq: IMOS) ("ChipMOS") hereby gives notice that the Company's 2001 Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Friday, December 14 2001 at 2:00pm Taipei time at the ChipMOS Head Office at No. 1, R&D Road 1, Science-Based Industrial Park, Hsinchu, Taiwan, Republic of China.

Details of the business to be brought before the AGM, the proxy statement, a proxy card and a copy of the Company's 2000 annual report will be mailed to shareholders on or about November 14, 2001.
