ChipMOS ANNOUNCES CHANGES TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORSHSINCHU, Taiwan, Oct. 2 -- ChipMOS TECHNOLOGIES (Bermuda) LTD. ("ChipMOS" or the "Company") (Nasdaq: IMOS) announced Dr. Rong Hsu was appointed by the Company's board of directors as an independent director on October 1, 2008 for a term up to the 2010 annual general meeting to fill the vacancy after Mr. Takaki Yamada's resignation on October 1, 2008 due to the policy of Mr. Yamada's new company on service. The Company confirmed that there is no matter that needed to be brought to the attention of shareholders of the Company in relation to Mr. Yamada's resignation. The board of directors took this opportunity to express their appreciation for Mr. Yamada's contribution to the Company.

From July 2005 until August 2008, Dr. Hsu served as an independent director for the Company. Since May 2006, Dr. Hsu was a vice president of Spatial Photonics Inc. In addition, Dr. Hsu was a founder of eLCOS Microdisplay Technology Group where he served as president from April 2001 to December 2005.
