ChipMOS REPORTS SEPTEMBER 2018 AND 3Q18 REVENUE

Hsinchu, Taiwan, October 9, 2018 - ChipMOS TECHNOLOGIES INC. (“ChipMOS” or the “Company”) (Taiwan Stock Exchange: 8150 and NASDAQ: IMOS), an industry leading provider of outsourced semiconductor assembly and test services (“OSAT”), today reported its unaudited consolidated revenue for the month of September 2018 and for the third quarter ended September 30, 2018. All U.S. dollar figures cited in this press release are based on the exchange rate of NT$30.46 to US$1.00 as of September 28, 2018.

Revenue for the month of September 2018 was NT$1,695.5 million or US$55.7 million, a decrease of 2.2% from the month of August 2018 and an increase of 10.5% from the same period in 2017.

Revenue for the third quarter of 2018 was NT$5,005.2 million or US$164.3 million, representing an increase of 11.4% from the second quarter of 2018, and an increase of 13.0% from the third quarter of 2017.

The Company noted it is continuing to benefit from a favorable business mix, and strong demand of TDDI for smartphones. Higher overall utilization levels reflect growth in underlying demand levels and longer test times required by TDDI programs.
